Death Announcement of 83-year-old Monica Xavier Toussaint better known as Ma Monica of Cochrane

We announce the death of 83-year-old Monica Xavier Toussaint better known as Ma Monica of Cochrane. She died on March 31st 2022 at the Dominica China Friendship Hospital.

She is survived by:

Children: Maylise Esprit, Francis “Bengos” Esprit, Augustus “Dowdie” Francis, Johnson Francis, Maurella Xavier, Gloria Watson Jean-Pierre and Caryl Bethel

Sisters: Samsular Joseph and Eslie Xavier Francis.

Brothers: Anthony David, Percel Phillip, Vivian Joseph and Neville Xavier.

Uncle: Phillip Mann

Grand-Children: Gale, Glenn, Anthony & Jkeem Francis, Michael, Trayce and Britney Bunche, Cashila Josephs, Shanner Esprit-Hamilton, Brenda Emanuel, Brundel Esprit, Murielle Paul, George Lancien and Yannick Cabrera.

Great Grand-Children: Malik, Liam, Ashton, Gianni, Kiarriah, Jadante, Valencia, Azari, Caylan, Aadisah, Mylian, Camille, Nathan, Kewen, Amalia and Emmanuelle.

Numerous Nieces including Cashmilla, Indra, Francess, Pandora, Percilia, Gloria, Niver, Vincia, Meon, Gail, Royette and Naomi

Nephews including MacClellan, Rennick, Kerwin and Frank.

Numerous Cousins including Alex, Pearl, Joycelyn, Marlyn and Mary.

Daughters in Law: Sandra Francis and Claudette Francis.

Son in Law: Martin Jean-Pierre.

Other In-laws including: Christian Emanuel, Guy Paul, Joel Hamilton, Deborah Esprit and Carlin Adams-Nicholas.

Caretakers: Sharon, Kisha and Madir.

Close friends including Honourable Doctor Roosevelt Skerrit, Honourable Doctor Irving McIntyre, Andrina, JoJo, Keith, Joan, Florestine, Susannah and Vignette.

Many other relatives and dear friends including the Cochrane Community, members of the Cochrane and St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church.

The body of the late Monica Xavier Toussaint will be transported from Gentle Rest Funeral Home for viewing at 9.30am on Tuesday April 26th 2022 at the St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church in Pottersville. The funeral service begins at 10am followed by interment at the Roseau Catholic Cemetery.

The funeral service will be streamed live.
